From the East
Brethren,
I hope you have had a nice summer. This month we are back to Tuesday evening practice to prep for autumn degree work. Yes, we have a few petitions to be read at our September stated communication. It will also be review time prior to the Grand Lodge Annual Communication later this month.
Those of us who are members of the Scottish Rite (and brothers planning to join at the October 21/22 Reunion) should make plans to attend there as well this fall because – unless there are changes – the temple will be relegated to history after the first of the year. We / Phalanx have quite a bit of history still in storage and on the walls there that we must reclaim and move here before developers put the wrecking ball to that near 40-year-old temple. We will form a group soon to handle the move. This is also a good time to start thinking toward Oasis Shriners fall Ceremonial the first weekend in November.
A busy season is about to commence and I look forward to seeing you in lodge!
Fraternally,
Bill Stout – Worshipful Master, PM
From the West
Brothers,
Labor day is upon us, if not already passed by the time you read this. Summer is effectively over. The kids are back in school. The days are getting shorter and our thoughts are starting to turn towards the end of year holidays.
I hope that you had a great summer and a chance to enjoy your family and friends.
For the past couple weeks we have taken a break from our weekly practices on Tuesday evenings, but we are getting ready to start up again after the September Stated. If you have never attended a practice, you may be wondering what goes on during these Tuesday practices. You also may be wondering if you are permitted to attend. In answer to these questions – we practice the ritual that you see so flawlessly executed and all Master Masons are welcome.
If you are a new Master Mason or have not served as an officer, I would encourage you to join us. You never know when you may be asked to sit in for an absent officer. If you are interested in participating as an officer, this is an excellent way to let us know of your interest.
I look forward to seeing you at our September Stated as well as our Tuesday practices.
Fraternally,
Bill Stout, SW
From the Secretary
Brothers,
I’ve extended the calendar listings through October, and it looks like we are due to be busy in the coming months, and these do not even include which will presumably be scheduled in October as well. We will also set the upcoming date for our annual BBQ sale, and the second Service Award presentation evening will fall in the final quarter of the year.
Finally, please note the year listed on your dues card. If it is not 2016, then you may be delinquent with your 2016 dues. If there is any question, please do not hesitate to contact me. We still have a number of Brothers from whom that payment has not been received.
Fraternally,
Mike Hamrick, PM
