Masonic Lodge Charlotte NC – October 2015

From the East

Brothers,

My Brothers, we are now into the fourth quarter and the end of 2015 is in sight. Those of you who wish to join Oasis Shrine or the Scottish Rite should have your petitions ready to go. So, what shall we do in 2016? If you have ideas, let’s hear ‘em!

We have two more Master Masons who were raised to the Sublime Degree just a few John Harder, PM days ago. Make sure to welcome Brothers Kevin Morelock & Jeffrey Ordonio. Thank you to those of you in attendance to witness and to help these brothers complete their preparation to begin their Masonic journeys. Meantime, please be thinking about our elections and consider what YOU would like to see in the coming year. Grand Lodge was a bit brighter this year when WB & Secretary Mike Hamrick lent his voice to regale all in attendance with some of the music intended for Masonic lodge meetings. * Maybe we should consider adding some of these songs to our future meetings!

We will talk about Grand Lodge action on several items at our October stated.

Pray unceasingly for our fraternity, our brothers, our military & law enforcement and yourself as the world appears to be tumbling headlong into conflict. Be sure you are quietly prepared for whatever may present itself – whether natural or manmade. Be subtle, be wise and BE PREPARED.

See you in lodge!,

Fraternally,

John Harder – Master

From the Secretary

Brothers,

We had a wonderful Master Mason Degree on Saturday, October 3, which began with a great breakfast prepared by Stewards Steve Jones and Robert Thomson with assistance from Bro. Chris Lueck. Those present were able to enjoy some wonderful ritual work, as Brothers Morelock and Ordonio were conducted through the degree. We look forward to their continued engagement in the lodge as they continue their Masonic journey.

Please make note of our annual Barbeque sale on Saturday, October 31. This is our largest fundraiser of the year for our Masonic Charities, and we will need a lot of assistance that day. Perhaps the most critical times will be morning and evening, though there will certainly be work to do throughout the day. We have a pre-order of 200 lunches from the Oasis Shrine, and will need many hands to prepare these so that they can be transported in time for lunch. Afternoon and evening will hopefully see some continuing walk-ins, but will also be a time of cleanup. Please make an effort to carve out some time on Oct. 31 to help us with this project.

Finally, I will mention the two November dates, the election of your 2016 Phalanx Officers at the November 10 Stated Communication, and the November 17 Service Awards presentations. Please plan to join us in the Lodge.

Fraternally,

Mike Hamrick, PM

Secretary
