Masonic Lodge Charlotte NC – Nov 2015

From the East

Brothers,

The leaves have blazed in beautiful color and have been spiraling from the trees while tempera-tures cool into November. Congratulations are in order for our new 32nd degree Scottish Rite Masons and to new Nobles of Oasis Shriners! Those who became Shriners on Halloween were part of the largest class in a couple of decades, at 104 (who also enjoyed a delicious BBQ lunch catered by Phalanx #31. WB Neil Crossley and crew did an outstanding job! Compliments and cleaned plates – after some 2nds, and a few 3rds – were the rule, while even more Q was served up at the lodge.) Thank you to everyone who helped and supported our 24th annual Cletus Odell Fulp BBQ event.

Excitement is already building for November 22nd when the Carolina Panthers host the Washington Redskins in week eleven of the NFL regular season. That game will be attended by residents of the Masonic Home for Children at Oxford.

I cannot begin to thank you enough for the effort (thank you Brothers Wilson and Lofton) and support that began here in our lodge (thank you Bro. Taylor) and drew more support from many of our members as well as all of the lodges in our district to send these children to a game that will mark a high point in their year.

2015 is being written into history and we are beginning to turn our attention to the coming new year, well at least toward the holidays. We have a busy several weeks ahead with 2016 officer elections, our second honors dinner and some degree work for several candidates. Oh, yes. Please make yourself available to conduct, and or welcome these young men to the grandest fraternity on the planet. Keep an eye on the calendar for these events!

Join us for our next Stated, Nov 10th

Fraternally,

John Harder – Master

From the Secretary

Brothers,

As we near the conclusion of 2015, we find ourselves quite busy, with lots of opportunities to get engaged with what is happening in your Lodge.

The November 10th Stated Communication will have among the agenda items, the election of your 2016 Phalanx Officers. November 24 will see an Entered Apprentice Degree with as many as three candidates. Please consider your availability to attend this very important first step in these men’s Masonic journey.

Lastly, I will call your attention to the November 17 Service Awards presentations and the December 15th 2016 Officer Installation. These are two of the very few opportunities for non-Masons to witness some of our Masonic ritual. You will have an opportunity to invite family and friends to both of these. Perhaps consider that you may invite a friend who you feel may be a good candidate for the fraternity, and who after attending one of these ceremonies, might inquire about joining.

Please plan to join us in the Lodge.

Fraternally,

Mike Hamrick, PM

Secretary
