Hello my Brothers,

The year is off to a great start and we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Most Worshipful Brother Shaun Bradshaw, Grand Master of NC Masons. We will be hosting the Grand Master April 1st for the 32nd District Official Visit. I hope that you will mark your calendar to attend. This is in addition to our regularly stated meeting for April, and it is a Wednesday.

I look forward to seeing you soon in the lodge. Please come and introduce yourself next time you come to the lodge.

Fraternally,

Greetings from the West! Happy February Brothers!

I was just thinking and asking recently “what religion is best for Masonry?”

Freemasonry welcomes all men from any religion. But Some Christian denominations and churches say that our prayers do not end with “in Jesus’ name we pray”, it’s unacceptable. That is their opinion and their right, I respect their judgment.

I would like to mention a topic called “religious tolerance and religious freedom” is in the
Constitution in the United States. As you all know, Freemasonry has played an important role in having religious freedom in America.

Why do I mention this? The concept of religious freedom came from Freemasonry.

Constitutionalists borrowed a few concepts beyond Freemasonry’s religious freedom. Our Fraternity always respects all religions that people may worship as they wish. That is the tradition of Freemasonry. If that contradicts the religious beliefs of some churches, they have the right to prevent their members from becoming Freemasons.

All such prohibitions are true or false, there is nothing to discuss and debate. Denominations and churches have the right to set rules according to their religious beliefs, we should respect that. With Freemasonry’s tradition of religious freedom, we should take it seriously and let all other religions sit together in the Fraternity.

Freemasonry never puts Masonic Lodge forth your relationship with God. Respect the religious beliefs you or we are pursuing.

Hope to see most of you next stated communication.

Greetings from the South!

As we celebrate Valentine’s Day this month I strongly urge you to salute the important women in your life. This may include wives, mothers, sisters, daughters and the surviving spouses of our deceased brothers. Their support is critical to our individual growth and the growth of our Lodges and should be commemorated.

We also celebrate Past Master, General and President George Washington’s birthday
this month. We should never forget just how important he was to the birth of our nation and fraternity. On November 4, 1752, he was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason in Fredericksburg Lodge No. 4 at the age of 20, and was Worshipful Master of the same Lodge starting in 1788 and continuing through his presidency. He was born on February 22, 1732. Happy 288th birthday my brother!

Fraternally,

Paul Parker
