From the East
Greetings from the East,
My brothers, December is going to be a busy month for our lodge. With the current COVID environment, procedural issues and my being called out of town at the last minute, I canceled the November stated communication. I apologize for the last minute notice and I contacted all the brothers who made a RSVP.
Per our by laws November is when we needed to have elections. Since no meeting was
held we are moving all of our business to December at the stated communication. We also will have to wrap up our business for the year of 2020 in this meeting.
We are on a new trajectory starting in 2021. Currently our lodge building is under contract to be sold to a developer. This means that the Joppa Masonic Temple will not continue in its current location. It also will allow our brother lodge, Eastgate #692 to pursue their own direction. This transaction could be complete within a few months and we need to chart a new course.
I would like to ask for volunteers to serve on the committee for long range planning to contact me. The intention would be to make recommendations to the lodge for our next chapter. Also the committee will look to arrange a place meet in the future.
I hope that each and every one of you had a happy Thanksgiving holiday. I look forward to seeing speaking to you soon and look forward to our next stated communication.
From the Secretary
This is a busy time of the year. Our December Stated Communication will include the election of our 2021 officers, as well as a discussion regarding members who have not
yet paid 2020 dues.
And specific to dues, those 2021 notices are now out, and due by December 31, 2020.
Some of you are utilizing the Our Lodge Page online payment, so please understand
that for a handful of members, your payment and this notice may have ‘crossed in the mail’.
Please join us on the 8th if you are willing and able.
Mike Hamrick, PM
