From the East
Brothers,
Why is it, that despite the care taken when putting away Christmas decorations, there is always one of that thousand-light strand that decides suddenly to retire? Oh, well it gives you something to do while watching football. Speaking of these things, the lights, wreaths and hunted trees strapped atop cars and trucks quickly became commonplace last week or so.
As we sally forth into the Christmas / Hanukkah / New Year’s season we welcome three new Entered Apprentices to our lodge and congratulate Brother Bill Stout on a great first degree before rather a large crowd.
It was great to see so many brothers in attendance. Meantime, the (now 11-0) Carolina Panthers hosted the Washington Redskins before a capacity crowd on November 22nd, that included the young men and ladies from the Masonic Home for Children at Oxford – just wait until you hear about their experience!
In the wake of an association meeting involving trustees from East Gate and from Phalanx, we have several issues to discuss at our next Stated on the 8th, and remember that 2016 officer installation is the following Tuesday (Dec. 15th ).
Speaking of the stated … Christmas ties? Sweaters? Socks?
Ho-Ho-Ho – See you in lodge!
Fraternally,
John Harder – Master
From the Secretary
Brothers,
As we near the end of yet another year, I want to first wish you all a very Happy Holiday season.
I do want to note the results of the November election of Officers for those of you who were not able to be present.
The following were elected to their respective stations and places for 2016:
WB John S. Harder – Master
Bro. Bill Stout – Senior Warden
WB Rocky Boyle – Junior Warden
WB Neil Crossley – Treasurer
WB Mike Hamrick – Secretary
Bro. Bill Stout – Trustee.
Appointed Officers include:
Michael Davis – Sr. Deacon
Steve Jones – Jr. Deacon
Robert Thomson – Sr. Steward
Chris Lueck – Jr. Steward
WB Dave Morgan – Chaplain
WB Mack Wilson – Tyler.
We’ve scheduled the Installation of the 2016 officers for Tuesday, Dec. 15. As this does not take place in a tiled lodge, this is a wonderful opportunity to invite family and friends, as well as perhaps a friend who you believe may both benefit and from Masonry.
Please plan to join us in the Lodge.
Fraternally,
Mike Hamrick, PM
